just out of warranty

'02 F-250 with shift on the fly and locking hubs. Driving home in the snow when I turn a corner and hear a loud clunking coming from the front axle. It only does it when I turn and only in 4wd. The hubs were in free position. 200 miles out of warranty. I guess I'll check the differential first, it sounds like a set of spiders is broken in there.

noise

Make sure that the lockouts are not bad. that's what it sounds like to me. One of them is not disengaging. I had one do the same thing exactly. I put a set of warn lockouts on it and havn't had the noise/problem since. Hope this helps, let us know.
