How to replace the wiper motor?
I am looking for step by step instructions with (pictures or video I know sounds corny if not oh well) on how to remove the wiper motor and crank arm. Need to get these taken care of, cause my wipers are stuck in the vertical position. They still work fine just need to be replaced. So if anyone can assist in this matter, thanks in advanced. 2002 Grand Prix GT

Re: How to replace the wiper motor?
If your wipers sweep across the glass, and the only problem is they don't go to the "park" position when turned off, instead they remain vertical, chances are you don't need anything...usually all that is wrong is the tab on the mounting bracket has bent, and that little "catch" underneath the rotating crank arm is not hitting the tab, when commanded off......
If you are leaning on the fender looking directly at the rotating crank arm, as that catch underneath the crank arm comes around in front of you, it just passes the "tab"...as it passes the tab, it should hit it...it probably isn't.....shut the wiper off...bend up that tab gradually, and turn wipers on......keep checking until that tab hits the catch as it rotates by...when it does, try turning the wipers off and see if the wipers park..... |
