For Alfa and Lancia (and Fiat too), I agree that there's a little link... and what ? So many companies have shares in others, GM in Fiat, AND Fiat in GM is another cooperation. But that has nothing to deal with buying of Chrysler buy Mercedes, or Volvo by Ford, or Seat by VAG, or even Nissan by Renault. The main links between the GM conglomerate and la Fiat Spa will be some (few) platforms and engines shared buy Opel and Fiat. But Alfa and Lancia will certainly keep their independance, even if we can hear (that's not sure) that the basis of the future V6 Alfa will be a V6... Opel ! heum.... no need to say that Alfa fans, people working by Alfa/Fiat Spa and many other people don't really agree with this idea, overall knowing that the economic health of Alfa is excellent (as Maserati and Ferrari, but not as Fiat and Lancia).
