Re: $150g's to spend on a car.

Wasn't that car created (in concept form) a little while ago? I seem to remeber for some reason running across it in a google search a long time ago. Then again, I'll also go ahead and state the obvious, it would cost over 150g.

Uh, yeah-concept car, not for sale (at least not now).

I have heard rumors that the V-12 that's in it is being tested, supposedly they built around 150 of them-much more than a concept type production run, I'd say.

Yeah, that wasn't exactly from left field. But still, I would stick with the Lotus Elise/modified Noble M12 GT0-3R package. Whereas the ford GT is both fast on a track and docile enough for the streets, the Lotus was made for street driving (and is arguably the most enjoyable on the streets) and the Noble M12 GT0-3R was made for the track. And yes, the noble is faster around the track than the GT. Or at least every possible indication leads to that conclusion (what I mean is that since no direct comparison has been done it is impossible to possively verify that).

Judging by the fact that he had Brabus Mercs, im guessing he wants something that combines speed and luxury, and I know the M12 and the Elise are known for being rather uncomfortable cars. Not exactly sure about the GT, but it just doesnt seem like an ex-mercedes owner's car. I would go with a nicely equipped Porsche 996 or a GT3. Both are very nice and very fast cars. Or if he wanted something a little calmer (choke) he should look into a ABD modified RS6 or a Dinan M5/M6 (once they come back out).

Well obviously I don't really know the guy, I'm less recommending it for him, and more dreaming it for myself, lol.

That's the angle that I'm pretty much taking on this issue. Afterall, if the guy's made up his mind then why hasn't this thread been closed. I think that after the first 5-6 posts it really became a "what would you spend 150g's on" thread. So the elise m12 combo is what I would choose.

See to me, I wouldn't be very eager to start swapping parts on a 150k dollar car. If it's something like an RUF or Sportec package, sure. But I'd be afraid to screw somthing up or put an untested part on that beaut.

Oh well, to each his own

$150,000 for a car? Good grief! You can buy a brand new 4 seat airplane for less than that! In some parts of Nevada, you can buy a brand new 3 bedroom home, too!

Re: $150g's to spend on a car.

Hey, that's what actor Steve McQueen did for kicks. He used to have an old beat-up VW bug with a souped-up Porche engine. He'd go to where the night time illegal drag races were and blow everybody's doors off.
