She's finally almost done! Will have pics etc. soon. Had a few delays sourcing parts from PAD etc. Not a big deal because I've been too busy with work to make time for any HPDEs.

We have just finished putting a cold air system on my car (went for similar setup to GTS but with a couple of subtle Kiwi mods). On track test we picked up around 200rpm down the back straight with this added. Mixture now needs fattening up as well, so may be a little more in it yet. Will find out next weekend as we are competing as planned in a 6 hour race. Kel.

Re: Panoz goes to Performance Autosport for some go fast stuff...
Mike, thanks for the support. We will have our work cut out for us as there will be a field of around 40 cars in the 6 hour and most of the top 10 cars will have at least an additional 100 - 200hp over us (likes of dedicated enduro Nissan GTR Skylines stripped out and with over 600hp). If we can keep circulating though I beleive we can do OK.
I will start a new thread with some pics of the cold air system, headlights and dry break fuel system. Kel.

Re: Panoz goes to Performance Autosport for some go fast stuff...
After a few delays w/ parts and coaters etc. the car is done Will have updated pics etc whenever Kevin at PAS sends them to me. For our patience he's delivering the car to me free of charge (2.5 hours away in Richmond) on Thursday or Friday.
The car made 307 rwhp and 297 rwtq in 110 degree shop tems w/ 80% humidity. I haven't seen the dynograph yet but Kevin says it's torque everywhere. We were hoping for 320 rwhp give or take, but it is fine. I really think the FMS shorties are what's holding us back. But this was really all about making a reliable fun setup for not a crapton of money. Now to run Mazdadrivers in June and August, something in September, and Synergy in November I'll update with pics etc. soon... |

I think those are very good numbers for bolt on HP. I looked back at your starting numbers 197/261. So thats 110 hp and 36 ft lbs. It would be great if the torque number were closer to the hp number.

Re: Panoz goes to Performance Autosport for some go fast stuff...
Brian,
I think you're dead on concerning the shorties. You need a set of Kel's headers, but then you'd bust the hp/weight ratio for your class. Heck, keep the shorties and take some weight out of it. The flat torgue is really going to make the car quick on the track, especially out of the corners. When you can, give us some lap comparisons. Going to be great fun! Mike |
