whats the difference in the 86 prelude and 86 prelude si?
i am looking at a prelude and want to know what is the differences between the two preformance wise. and what would be a better buy for a 16 year olds first car. there both standard and will be lowered.
also how hard is it to get your hands into the engine compartment complaired to a old chevy nova with a 350cid? (parents are wanting to get me a car and i told them im looking at a prelude but they said i should get somthing i can work on and get my hands into and work on it. also if i get the prelude i can get soon and would be running or i could get the nova with no motor and is not running and is in bad condition in a year. so what should i do? also i will be beating in this car as far as the clutch for the first little bit because im not great at driving standard, so is the prelude easy on clutches? as far as wear? also where can i get lowering springs that fit the 86 prelude. im wanting to lower it 1-1.5" then normal. also strut bars that fit the prelude. the non si prelude has maby 130 and the si is around 160. I think it was the 4th or 5th gen that has more power but the older ones are like this. I have a 92 prelude non si and the engine compartment has plenty of room to work in. especially in an older car from the 80's there will be plenty of room.
why do you want an older prelude anyways?

http://hondaprelude.sitemynet.com/hs.html <<<<<<<start there it notes that the Si has 110 hp as to the base model's 100hp. I have an 86' lude Si with a slushbox, faded black paint, brakes and muffler is shot, but its still a fun car

also i can get the prelude cheap and parts are cheap compared to other vehicles my parents have asked if i would like to get (AMC gremlin, AMC pacer, DODGE dart, CHEVY nova, first three my father has owned and is wanting to mod exactly how he had them and the nova is what my mothers boylfriend wants me to get.) i just love import too (my sister owns a 00' civic with a garage 5 redline motor and custom exhaust. now thats a rice rocket!! ) |

and the si 2.0l is fuel injected and the 1.8l 2bbl is carb and is way more of a pain in rear to work on.
i have the 1.8 and i hate working on it |
