Nürburgring - Karussel turn 1:24 diorama
just finally made this little (A3 format) diorama for modelling photo shooting.
the location is the very famous Karussel turn @ the Nurburgring Nordschleife track. idea is to use it as base for finished models.tested it with some cheap die cast and also gamed a little with magcovers program Hope u like it. the first effort to do it didnt convice me, cause the asphalt part was little too bit crispy.Ring is famous for the terrible pattern, but such way was little too bit (even if effect was cool too..) then scrapped nearly all and redid it with wall putty giving a much more close to reality appeal. guard rail is done in heavy alluminium, curved with a dime.Dint made the real last guard rail they ahve now, and prefer use a little damaged one to allow me to use the base also for formula 1 cars in 1/20 (in this life I absolutely have to build up Niki lauda ferrari from 1976)

Re: Nürburgring - Karussel turn 1:24 diorama
took the idea to make it from those nice pic of the real place.Of course also I know real karussel dont have the red/white signal part in the inner part of the turn. But it is nice looking with modelling
It is a small piece in scale of Germany I love to collect. It is a part of what I consider the nicest and most fashinating track of the world.A magic place....

I love the idea and how you done it
If I had done it myself (which I am in no way capable of) I would've gone for this car: BMW or something german is the obvious pick, not that the lancia looked bad either! Edit: Is that the Airfix 1/32 DBR9? If it isn't, can you post a photothread link which I hope you have? |

Quote:
http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul....php?t=1082371 The dbr9 is the nice 1/24 die cast from Motorama. I choose theme just to take some fast shots to have a final idea of the overall look. Many die cast now are really great looking and at a very cheap price (they make me really wonder when I spend 200 euro for a resin kit). Also have here the Vitafone MC-12, still waiting to assemby it cause the wheels and the tyre pattern is something incredibly nice I would like to use on something else (read SLR-Gt by Meko). I still cant see so much the distance with Ejan resin kit at 200 euros btw.... @john : thank u my friend

Great idea and very well executed!
I like the "magazines". They look very real. Darn. Where do you people get all your free time... Sigh. |
