Re: Porsche 997 GT3 RSR

Hey RobiJ - is there a projected price for this trans kit? and who to contact to get one? it would be perfect for making the "Blue" flying lizard car and not having to use an entire RSR slot car body. I have modified one of my RSR bodies with the Fujimi GT3 rear so that it is ready for the "orange" flying lizard car. - John

Hi John, as far as I know there's no projected price yet. You could contact Davide directly (he speaks English) for further infos:

P.S. I read you're working on more than one interesting project, won't you show something in the future...?

Re: Porsche 997 GT3 RSR

I've heard rumors that Matthew at SMS is going to do a set. Can anyone confirm that?? I have just picked up the 2007 "Flying Lizard" SMS decals from Mac at Mac's Modeling. Hey for anyone here in The USA not familiar with Mac at Mac's Modeling give him a look - check out his website - prices and shipping is reasonable - he has a lot of hard things to find in stock and he can get anything you want he doesn't have in a couple of weeks. I have been shopping with him now for 2 years and I am very please with his prices and service. Never had a problem And he carries all auto sports - Bikes-F1-sportscars - and any other genre you might be interested in he can get, plus he is working on producing all his own AZRM products - - John

Re: Porsche 997 GT3 RSR

Wow, 60 euro for a few parts. That's a lot of cash. He told me the TK would 35 euro's shipped. I think i'm going to stick with making Belcar GT3's.

Best regards,
Lesley

See the photos in the previous page:

Transkit will include photoetched parts (latest infos - 2x wing supports type, front and bumper grilles, side lights, pedals, brake discs, hood pins, seat belts harness, windshield wiper) and the beautiful 18" BBS rims (Scale Production)

I didnt know about the PE parts, wheels from scale production, but if you count everything together(TK, fujimi kit + decal set) then price is about equal to a profil24 kit. Would you agree.

Best regards,
Lesley

Yes Lesley, despite the P24 shape is not so accurate and the BBS from SP have no competitors. On the other hand, with the transkit a fair amount of surgery is required.

Re: Porsche 997 GT3 RSR

Hey guys - I received a email from David - he has asked me to explained that the 60 euro price was just a forecasted approximate price. He has told me that to produce a quality photo etch set and quality parts for the kit in Italy - the price would be higher than than of a cheap transkit, but he is hoping that he can keep the cost of the kit down to 45 euros for the kit worldwide. David is trying to keep the cost as low as possible without sacrificing quality. when you consider the price of the SP wheels the kit is more reasonable - This is an economic option to buying a slot car body which sells for 30-45 euro by the time you get it shipped to you. - John

As far as the extensive surgery goes - I have made these changes on a slot car body and a Fujimi body and it is not that difficult - so I expect the transkit to be a fairly simple task for the modelers on this forum. - John
