Re: No spark!!!

possibly the timing still?

Why did you rebuild it? Just high miles? Timing belt break? or I was bored and i thought it would be fun?

No but seriously it could be the timing, does it burn anything?

Re: No spark!!!

if it runs but then dies, it sounds like the timing. The distributor is on there correctly right? I'm not judging your smarts or anything.. But i have seen it happen before. Try to get someone with a timing light to check it out.

Re: No spark!!!

If the timeing is off a little bit, you can adjust that by tilting the distributer, correct?

Re: No spark!!!

Is it off on the belt? If it's on on the dizzy that should not make the car stall. You can be a little adv or a little retard and it wont stall. Are you getting fuel prs? You may also wanna do a compresion ck to, just to make sure the rings are good.

Also ck all your vac's that will make the car stall after you let off the gas and push in the clutch. Make sure you have them hooked up right.

Re: No spark!!!

yeah, you can adjust it by the distributor, I seen a guy one time that had the distributor off by like 45 degrees. He had the legs bolted in the wrong spots. I am suprised it ran

Re: No spark!!!

it will still run. If it's to far adv it will knock, if it's to far retart it will lag.

Re: No spark!!!

Well i got my car all up and running. I want soooo badly to wind it up high, but I guess i should probably wait untill i have the engine broken in. lol. It's sooo much more responsive so i am very happy. i was getting like no compression before for several reasons, now i am getting about 85 psi. is that normal?
