1997 XJ6 Radio Problem
For the second time, the radio has failed. The problem is that is intermittently locks up and becomes unresponsive. Cannot adjust volume, station, power, cd/radio. Have been waiting for 2 months for dealer to get new radio in stock. They say these radios are not manufactured any more, and must be repaired. Evidently there is a shortage of radios and on top of that, they must be shipped back to England for the repairs. Has anyone else experienced this problem and / or know of any fixes?

Re: 1997 XJ6 Radio Problem
The Jaguar Dealer sent it to the Alpine factory repair center (in Denver, Colorado). I don't know if they actually repaired it or replaced it with a refurbished unit. I have been told that these units are no longer made. That was our solution.

i have the same problem with my 97, i find if you press the tape eject button then quickly change volume/change track etc. it will work. unfortunatly this is not a permanate fix and might have to be done several times a drive.
