Help needed with removal of decals

Having made quite a few models and figure for a friend, he asked me to replace the Go!!!!!!! logo's off a Minichamps M1 with Gauloises, has anybody had any experience of removing the decals without having to respray the whole bike?

You can try it using decal softener, but if the whole is clearcoated I think it's not possible.
