i gots me a new one
i picked up a new caprice yesterday. its an 85 Caprice Classic wagon, this car WAS an Avis rental car for the first 21k of its life. so here are the specs. 305 4spd auto, 8 passenger, manual everything except tailgate window, aftermarket cruise control, AC, non tilt column, base cluster (9C1 WILL go in), base AM/FM radio, manual seats, base roof rack (not the top of the line one like my 86), and towing package (aftermarket).
this car is in decent shape for being buried under blackberry bushes for 7 or 8 years. the body is fairly straight with the exception of a few small dings and a dent in the 1\4 panel below the body line. the interior is beautiful with the exception of the mold due to sitting. i will be snagging the dash pad for my 86 since its in better shape than mine. i will be swapping the good stuff for hte bad from the 85 to my 86 and the 85 will be used as a work rig, parts hauler, and anything i want kept dry but dont want to put into the 86. once i get it cleaned up i will take some pics of it and maybe some better ones of my 86 as well. we shall see

wow exceptionally dirty but over all a good find i believe oh and you're missing your coolant resevoir cap

yeah its dirty but i got it from a freind of the family and i know how its been treated. badly. so i figured i would, liberate, i think that would be the word, it from its blackberry vined grave. and for $50 i cant complain!
oh and yeah i know the overflow cap is missing. got oodles of work to do.

I dont think I've ever seen/heard of an aftermarket cruise control system. How does it look undernieth?

well i tried to get teh thing to crank and nothing. and yes i KNOW the battery is good. its the one out of my 86. radio is toast, and i broke the heater controls trying to get them out. at least i have another set. so everything thats good will be swapped over to my 86 and this one will be put together as a work rig.
