Re: AMC owners?
They all went away. I hadn't checked this in so long that I didn't realize it had changed.
I'll hold my hand up for all the other 69 Javelin owners out there.... |

Re: AMC owners?
Its good to know there are at least three AMC's left in the world.
Maybe they don't break and that's why this forum is so dead. Yeah, right.... |

83 Amc Spirit
I just purchased a 83 amc spirit
59000 miles straight 6. The car has been in storage in the garage for 10 years. Last started around 4-5 years ago. Put in a new fuel pump and battery but can't get the car started. It does crank and it feels like it want to start but it doesn't. The carburtor is dirty but its seems to be getting gas. Oh yea I belive gas was left in the car any suggestions please |

Re: AMC owners?
Gas is too old,, disconnect fuel pump inlet ,, pour 2oz .gas and spray ether(starting fluid) into carb,, prop open butterfly with 5/16 rubber gas hose, attempt to start..

Re: AMC owners?
If he put a new fuel pump on old gas could mess it up,,
I guess he Viewed gas in the carb...? I assume he did a test on the spark...? I assume the choke will try to close on the first start up.. Thats why,,, a bit much... |

Re: AMC owners?
It might make a good light show though. I'd recommend draining the varnish (er, gas) from the tank and giving the rubber fuel lines a good once over also - no telling what condition the lines might be in after sitting for 10 years.
