Angry 91 Berreta Gt 3.1 Crazy Problem, HELP HELP HELP FUEL? ELECT? HAVE NO CLUE

OK the car and its 3.1 is driving me insane. It runs for anywhere between 30 sec. to 2 min. Then dies with the smell of fuel wait 2 to 5 min it will start again but you must put it too the floor and feather the throttle to get it started. I have pulled the trouble cods and came up with a code 45 changed the O2 sensor and that cleared that immediately. But the problem persisted took out the coil pack and had the Ignition Control Module tested at 2 different parts stores because at the first was a young kid who wasn’t sure wow to run the tester any way they both said it was good and passed the test even smacking it with a small mallet to simulate crazy engine vibration. Then have a spare berretta that is a 94 4 cylinder but most of the sensors have the same part number so I removed and had tested the TPS Throttle Position Sensor, MAP Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor, ACS Air Charge Sensor,
O2 Oxygen Sensor, The (ECM) and the (PROM) were both tested and the prom was bad they were changed three weeks earlier do to the car running very erratic…OK now the only thing that seemed to help was when I took out the coil pack and taped up some wires around the Ignition Control Module now the car ran none stop for twenty min idling I took it around town down the highway driving the snot out of it and I thought I had it whipped came back to the shop put up my tools and drove it home happy as can be it sat for twelve hours while I slept got up to go to work and drove three blocks and whammy here we go again same thing. For about two days it wouldn’t show any codes then finally it came up with a 41 and a 45 a question on this part WHERE ON A 3.1 IS THE CAM SENSOR LOCATED ??? anyway any advice guesses let me in on the secret before I take a gas axe to it and get in on this high steel prices right now..

im not sure if the cam sensoris the prob but its a sensor i have not replaced

your car doesn't have a cam sensor. It does have a crankshaft position sensor located in the back of the block. it's just above the oil pan rail, center of the block, just slightly toward the passenger side. It's retained by one bolt, and has a two-wire harness.

I'm with loosenut on this one.... my 93 is having similar issues... I pulled the upper plenum and found a broken vaccum line leading to the MAP sensor... fixed that and it helped.... still not quite right though.... Might test the TPS...
