Exclamation 1990 MPV WiLL NOT RUN

I use a 1990 mpv as a commuter with 3 other guys and we are stumped.
Vehicle has 240-something KM on the clock, but is still in really good shape.
4 cyl. 2.6?L 5- speed MANUAL

Problem started-> Check Engine Light intermitent. Vehicle would cut out while driving down the Highway, but would restart/ able to restart @ road side. Only happened when vehicle was HOT. (about 1/2h down the road). Checked for fuel pressure, and water in fuel. Both OK

Vehicle now not drivable. Check Engine Light STAYS ON. Will idle high, but when throttle is pressed, engine stumbles and dies. (still able to be restarted)

New Distributor cap and Rotor, new wires, new MAF sensor ( just past air intake towards intake manifold) new air filter installed.

Check Engine Light Still remains on. No improvement.
Where/How do i get the fault codes out of this van(connector location??)

Any thoughts/troubleshooting tips appreciated.
