Bongo Land Speed Record
I recently clocked myself doing 81 mph on the M1. Foolish I know, and it took a few stiff drinks to get over the shock before I could drive home. But has anyone clocked up a faster speed (accidently ofcourse)?

Just 81mph - were you out for a Sunday drive Bongoman ? or perhaps you should invest in some heavier boots.
No land speed record there I'm afraid - I regularly cruise comfortably at 90mph on long distance continental runs with top speed recorded on clock at a tad over 100mph (165km/h - never got the speedo converted ). How about this for a record ? The fastest speed recorded by a Bongo on police radar - 138km/h in France in 110 limit - cost me 80 Euros fine and an armed escort to the nearest cashpoint for instant French justice. |

You'll have to be a bit more specific, Percy.

If you think a Bongo is slow, try a run in a Toyota Townace turbo diesel auto !! (2.0 litre 2CT engine)

Re: Bongo Land Speed Record
Yes, they can cruise easlily at 80mph, push harder and at 90 still feels good, over to 100 and the whole thing feels quite out of control, so wacht it raceboys. It's a heavy box at 100. It can take it, no problem but i cant help feeling veeeeeeery loose over 90. Not safe brothers and sisters!....
Go Bongo go...... |

We're with Bongoman. Don't think we've made it over 120kph yet, which is about 75mph. But still hoping for a long downward slope and a following wind.
