Electric Fan in 2.5L Wrangler
I recently removed the OEM clutch fan and installed a electric fan (out of a Lincoln. Tempo works too). I read a posting in another posting site that I would gain HP with this change.
I see a nice increase in power and milage, but the best thing is how quiet the engine is now, besides the extra room in the engine compartment area (2.5L). I installed a thermostat to the low speed fan and a manual switch to the high speed fan for those days in the hot desert. The trick is to do some homework for the wiring (use a dual relay besides the thermostat relayand a on/off/on switch). Does anyone else have information on these??? and or comments

Re: Electric Fan in 2.5L Wrangler
Yeah, how easy is it to install them yourself, do the directly bolt on in place next to radiator, or any modificatinos liek dirlling or hammering haha...
I have a 1990 wrangelr with a 2.5l and i just put a new injector and new fuel lines in it. my engine seems to run well adn satisfy my power needs, but if this makes it quiter and increase fuel mileage as well as loosening up my engine alittle bit, is it worth the 200 bucks? or how much does it cost really? im intrested, I LOVE MY WRANGLER and only want to do whats best for itopcorn: |

Re: Electric Fan in 2.5L Wrangler
This modification costs me less then $100.00.
I purchased the fan at Ecology (see photos on site) for about $40.00, and the thermostatically controlled relay for about $45.00 from the Auto parts store. I would recommend that you install a second relay for the 'high speed' part of the fan (using the thermostatically controlled relay to the low speed of the fan. This is the plans I used, except I just cut (on the line) my shroud to keep the original placement of the power steering and water bottle (without the flexlite parts). http://www.creeperjeepers.org/Electr...2.5L%20TJ.html Happy Jeepin
