Trade in my new car?

I got a "special offer" letter from my dealer asking me to consider trading in my 2002 Passat 4 motion for a new car because they are looking to increase their stock of slightly used cars. I've never heard of such a thing. Is it worth pursuing?

Thanks for your thoughts!

Well, if you WANT a new VW for some reason, it could be worth it ... but they're gonna rip you off big time.

That's bullshit. They just want you to buy a new car.
