Question about brakes and small cars.

Hey guys. I have a pretty small car (it's a Pontiac Sunbird 94) and its been giving me some brake problems. I got the brakes fixed once (cost almost 400 bucks for new roaters and all) and that was about the end of Feb. Well about May or June, the brakes started giving me big time problems again. When I put on the brakes, they were making funny noises (several different ones) and the car would jerk pretty bad. Then when I was fully stopped, the back brakes would wana stay in brake when I hit the gas and they would make a pop noise and go back off. It was really weird. Its still doing it and I need to get it looked at (the place that fixed them gave me a lifetime warrenty).

Well here is my question. I think I know why they are messing up so quickly. I have a good friend of mine who is a big guy, I mean BIG guy. He's close (if not to) 400 lbs. He already bent the hell out of my pass. side seat from his weight. My question is, since I drive him around sometimes, his the weight of this guy wearing my brakes out? I was thinking maybe due to his size, all that weight is hard on the brakes. I was under the impression my car could hold a LOT of weight. I don't wana tell him he's too fat for my car, but I can't keep having it screw up.

Do you think having him in my car can possibly be the problem to my brakes wearing out so quickly? Thanks.

Re: Question about brakes and small cars.

well there should be a label somewhere on the car that tells how much load you can carry; my mom's van its located in the glove compartment and most cars have it on the door jam.
