Re: Ford Probe GT vs 3kgt SL
i have friends that have driven 3000gt sl's, and i have a probe. im sure that the 3000gt would beat the crap out of a probe, even a slightly modded gt.

Eh base GT, the probe will kill it SL ,probe has some probs, JDM Engine in the probe will kill ANY FRONT wheel drive car accept the SRT-4, stock. It will kill a Type R, a RSX-S, a celica GT-s, any 3000GT whether SL or not, Turbo LS integras, Turbo Civics, Civic hatches WITH a B series, yes with a B series in it. To mess with a Probe GT with the Mazda JDm engine is for a ho to mess with a pimps money. Either way you look at it your gonna get bitched.

Re: Ford Probe GT vs 3kgt SL
Are they both manual tranny? Someone posted the exact same question on probetalk.com a while back, but the SL was an ATX and the PGT was a MTX. A PGT MTX will beat a SL ATX without sweating. If they are both MTX cars, I'd still give the edge to the Probe, but it's more of a driver's race then. Probes have crappy traction in 1st. I have no idea what a 3kgt SL would be like on the launch.
All I know is that they are pretty heavy. Probes weigh about 2900-3000 without the driver and 164 hp stock. I'm sure the 3kgt SL is about 3500 lbs and IIRC about 222 hp stock. |
