fuel pump problem '91 740 wagon
Can anyone tell me why my '91 740 wagon has only one fuel pump? Everything I have read and researched about this vehicle says it should have two, but I have traced the fuel line, from tank to injectors, and can only find one. I am perplexed.......please help. Thanx

If you have the Bosch fuel injection system, then you have one under the drivers seat area beneath the car, and the other internal in the fuel tank. If you have the regina fuel injection, then only one pump. If you think you have the Bosch, look at your fuse tray, should be a separate fuse for the intank pump. You can pull it while the engine is running and hear the change in noise. The car won't die. Its a prepump to take some of the strain off the main pump.
If your coil is a standard shape, the round kind, then Bosch system. If it looks more square, regina. |
