Please Please Help - Fuel Pressure Regulator
I own a 95 Eldorado and always get my car serviced at same caddy dealer. Started having problem with raw fuel smell and took 5 seconds or so to start car (turn over) every morning and when sat for a couple hours. Brought car in and they found fuel pressure regulator leaking and replaced and retested. Still having same problems and they say it is fine. They look at me like I am crazy and took over to another dealer b/c trying to trade it in and first thing they said is you have raw fuel smell without me even mentioning any work being done and offered my lowball trade b/c of it. Took back to my dealer and they keep telling me nothing wrong. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Re: Please Please Help - Fuel Pressure Regulator
Look for a leaking fuel line under the hood or underneath the car. Likely, its the fuel return line.
Also, this is not a difficult repair, nor particularly expensive. (My Bonneville had the same problem $180 to fix) You should be suspicious of a garage that tries to talk you into selling it. |
