1989 Jeep Cherokee 4.0 Rough Idle Problem
Ok so I just bought a 1989 Jeep Cherokee 4.0 automatic, and it runs like a champ, but it idles very rough and sometimes seems like its going to die, and sounds pretty bad too. But sounds great and runs great once you start driving it, but will idle rough again once you come to a stop. Its runs like that when i first start it up and even after it been driven around for awhile so it doesnt seem to have anything to do with comeing to temperature, but every once in awhile it will idle nice and smooth especaily if ive just pulled off the freeway or something?
Any Ideas will be greatly appreciated. Thanks |

Re: 1989 Jeep Cherokee 4.0 Rough Idle Problem
OK so I took the Throttle Body off, and Pulled out the IAC(i think that what the thing was) and I cleaned them off realy good. Yes they were pretty dirty, but it still runs the same. Any other sugestions?

OK so I compression tested my truck and heres what i got
6=155 5=130 4=150 3=135 2=110 1=105 Does anyone see a problem with these reading? And it seems to run better now that I have cleaned and replaced some of the vacume lines, i think im going to replace all of them. It still burns oil too.
