Re: Park place diorama

Diorama is on-hold or better said at the end. The point was to test how sand paper reacts on paint and how is the final look.
Of course I will re-do the project, but with bigger parking lot. For at least 5 cars.
I'm thinking of using a better 'grass'. And the whole lot will be covered with a glass-box.
I'll leave the pics on the web so if someone, someday will wonder how accurate could black sand paper be

I got it in LHS. It's the cheap one - $4. For the big diorama I will probably use a better grass. Made from fibres. When you stick it on glue the static makes each stalk to 'stand up'. Looks really nice. Cost is also 'nice' - $10.

You can also make this type of grass. Saw a tutorial somewhere, but don't know where ...
As I said, try at your LHS.

Re: How To Make a Simple Parking Lot Diorama

Dats sweet, im gonna try to do a diarama. first i wanted to do a parking lot scene but now im gettin the garage for 1/24 scale models, putting a highway and a drag strip. If i ever get the time to make it ill post some pics. I want to make 2 cars racing n put the prelude cop chasing. I plan to make it on wood and spray it black then put detail. would that look good???

Re: How To Make a Simple Parking Lot Diorama

Good idea and that would look awesome. There will be a lot of detailing - road fence, one or two road signs. Just for info; I think Testor is making Asphalt black paint - enamel for road. Keep us posted anyways

strange ...
I can't find it anywhere on the web, but I was holding it today at LHS. I'm sure it was Testors - ModelMaster. I saw that Humbroll also have similar - tarmac, which should be identical to Tamiya XF24 which is dark grey??

I'll check it again at LHS and write down the number.
