Engine Choice
for lack of anything better to ask.
Id say assume your Bill Gates... but then why would you still have a 240 and not a Skyline GTR. whatever you get the idea |

id like to have about a 350rwhp KA-24DET with a t3/t4, log style manifold, spearco intercooler, race cams, and some more valvetrain goodies.

i was thinkin of doing a ca18det, but after some research i think i'd rather go with the sr20det. i'm not really into the rb thing. i'd never put a v8 n my 240 and for the tons of cash for the 2jz, i'd just do an rb.

just a friendly reminder from your moderator.
those who vote for "LS6" will be hunted down and banned. that is all. nah i'm just kidding. seriousley, it's been a while since we've had a thread like this. i'll have to go with SR, since that's what i've always planned on since day one. if money were no object, then the choise is obvious.

I'm gonna have to go with the SR because that's what I've always loved and that's what I've been taught to love (by my brother).

I'm probly doing a CA since it's so uncommon and I think it's a very great engine for it's very low cost, but maybe SR since there is so much more aftermarket support and it so much easier to find one.
If money was no option I would definitely go with RB26DETT since: A.) I love the sound of an i6...especially compared to a dinky (sounding) i4 B.) The power to weight ratio would be pretty crazy, even stock/lightly modified C.) It would be damn funny being able to kill nearly anything on the street since if cost was no object I would have 500-600hp under the hood. No one would suspect it...especially not those domestic muscle car freaks ahahahahhaahahhahahahahahahah

rb26
why are so many people picking sr's if money didn't mean anything... rb's have a very good weight distribution ratio, have TWO TURBOS, and are ungodly sickly fast completely stock in a 240. if i won the lotto tomorrow, i would get the attached 240 in a heartbeat. or style one just like it. then i'd swap out the engine for a rb26 and mod it up to about 800hp.

NOTICE!
voting and posting go hand in hand. if you vote, you post what you voted for and why. DO NOT JUST VOTE AND LEAVE! this brings the thread back to the top with nothing new in it to read, such as now. the thread is at the top of the page, but the last reply is from yesterday. if this happens too many more times, then i'll be forced to close the poll. please don't make me do that.

if money was no problem I'd just freakin create my own V6 engine specialy designed for the S13 240sx, I mean if you have all the money needed how could it be that hard?

Have you guys heard that say : "Money Talks" Money is always the problem with everything. The only reason my dad got the SR20 is because it was a trade for his old car (MR2). I still prefer the SR20, its popular and more parts here in america. compared to most of those other engines. and like most other people said " i'd rather get the RB" but oh well "money talks"
