2003 escalade brake problem
I have 2003 escalade esv when I press on the brake pedel it is very hard to push. I thought at first it was me so I took it down the road went to slow down and I had to put alot into it just to get the truck to slow down make the turn. Just feels like a car with no power brakes. Does anybody have any ideas to check?

Hydro boost or vacuum boost? I can never remember.

Is there a way to test that?

Re: 2003 escalade brake problem
The hydroboost has hydraulic lines to the brake unit, no way for a dyer to test this, I would get this to a mechanic or dealer, rather than obtain forum guesses on what's what, no?

Re: 2003 escalade brake problem
Well I had a dealer look at the truck last night they told me the booster was bad. So I bought a used booster and the line that goes to the power steering pump. Got home and started looking at how everything came apart. When I found a box behind the brake peddle. It was a box for the navigation. I moved it and now I have brakes.
Now has anyone replaced the hose that goes to the power steering pump? Will I have to bleed the booster if so How do I bleed the air out out? |
