StreetGlow( Optix ) Underbody Neon Lights

Befor you guys go and bust my tail about having underbody neons i know its ricy but i want it to show thanks......... Anyways heres the problem



I have them on the car and have the ground hooked under the hood and the power hooked to the battery running a wire to the inside of my car to a fuse block thing which is a wire with a fuse and then ran to a on and off switch... connected to a l.e.d light to let me know if its on.Not to mention the fuse block cam from a alarm so I don;t know if that has something to do with it not being strong or what but o well. Its a 10 amp fuse in the fuse block. Anyways everytime you hit the switch it blows the fuse. It blew 4 10 amp fuses and then I switched over to 15 amp blew all 5 of those and then switch to 20 and blew all 5 of those so i just stoped.. What could be the problem? Please help thanks

Don't knock the man for doing what he likes. If thats all your gonna do then you shoudn't have even posted.

Anyways I installed a Optx LED kit under a buddy's dodge dakota about a month ago. I dont remember how I wired the ground but I did wire the power to the fusebox. Sorry I can't help you too much. BTW: Make sure your bulbs under the car arent showing. I cant stand when the bulbs are exposed...soo tacky.

This isn't related to the problem you're having, but just a little tid-bit for you. If you ever take your car to a shop, even for an oil change, ALWAYS remember to tell them that you have the neons on your car. Even go as far as to write a note and tape it to the dash as a reminder. I've seen a few cars get their neons destroyed because the car owner forgot to tell the person working on the car, about them. If you don't make it clear to them that they are on there, the shop is not liable for the damage when they break them.

Move your ground from the frame to the battery. Also, did your kit come with the transformer to wire all the lights into? If not, get one.

You just have to connect all the neon light wires up to it, should come with switch, and connect ground and positive to the battery...

Hey, sorry for the necro post but I'm having this same problem. Started when I broke a side tube and had to replace, and in the process I let some bare wire touch a ground... Needless to say, I had alot of sparks smoke and melted wires. I replaced all the wires with speakerwire, which happens to be the same gauge (18) but now every time I turn them on I blow a fuse. Could this be because of a bad ground (to the negitive battery terminal)? I didn't replace this wire because it looked perfectly fine from what I could see.

EDIT: I have 2 transformers wired exactly the same, one set works the other is the one blowing the fuses all the time.

EDIT: I found the problem, I had a loose wire going from the transformer to my rear neon. I'm not sure why this was an issue but it seems to work now.
