Fuel Pump?

This car is my daughters and I am not a mechanoc.

The car will start, run 10 to 15 seconds then dies. If you wait 5 minutes it will repeat the cycle or if you bump the engine three or four tomes then it will start for 10 or 15 seconds.

She has had the timing belt, coil packs, computer, and crank sensor replaced.

The funny thing is when they come get the car on a roll back and they get it to the shop it starts and runs fine. After a week or so it starts doing it again.

I think there is a lot of gunk in the tank and it clogs up the cover on the fuel pump. When they put it on the roll back it dislodges the gunk enough to let the car run until it gets gunked up again.

As I said, I am not a mechanic. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!

Re: Fuel Pump?

Possible, I would change the fuel filter. The pumps can actually push a lot of "crap" but the filter will stop it.
