1996 Cierrra brake lights dimming

Can anyone tell me if a faulty brake switch would cause my headlights, dash lights, blower fan to dim when applying the brakes? It seems to do it worse when the car is running. I am wondering if the switch is starting to fail, but is there any way to check it?
Thanks

I'd check alt output under load to start off with.

Output is great, but thanks for pointing that out. It does seem worse as winter sets in, and has acted this way the past 2 years. It just seems a little worse this year. Only 175k miles on her, so she don't owe me nothing.

I can't believe the way this thing rattles on startup when cold, but just keeps on going, without ever using any oil.I am hoping to get 200k miles on this car, if it won't nickle and dime me at least.
