It is a GTR - I (we) used to believe that it was GTR #09R prior to learning the true story behind that car. For those who don't know, #09R was built for the Brunei Royal Family as an exact replica of the LeMans winning GTR #01R. So now that #09R has been eliminated from the running I think the latest guess is that this could be GTR #04R. This car was never actually raced in this livery, but was used for the "West Adrenaline Program" which toured eastern European countries showcasing the McLaren Formula One team as well as this F1 GTR and they also brought along one of those huge racing semi trucks (lorry racing is what I believe it is called). You can search the web to find more info on the program. Here's one of the few photos I have from one of the events:

In reference to the photos you posted - I actually believe that the car its next to it under the car cover is another short tailed GTR or possibly an LM. It could be #01R or XP1 LM considering the factory still retains possession of both those cars.

i think its weird how they put mercedes stuff on a car with a BMW engine in it,and looking at the pic again i think it is a short tail gtr or xp1 lm since the gt would be a little bit lower at the back and i found the pic of hte Gt i was talking about and it is facing a different way and no other mclaren next to it.

West has no real relation with Mercedes Benz per se. West is a cigarette brand that happens to sponsor the McLaren Formula One team which uses Mercedes Benz engines.

The road cars (including the F1 LMs and F1 GTs) all had a standard transmission with the gated shift pattern which is found on most manual transmissioned cars. The early GTRs from 1995 and 1996 also used the same style gear change, but it proved to be less efficient under racing conditions than the sequential gearbox found on many of its competitors. When McLaren Cars developed the longtail GTRs, one of the improvements they deemed critical for the car's success was a sequential gear change, so only those 10 F1 GTRs would have a push forward/pull back style gear change.

You can see the different style of gear lever in this shot of #19R, the first longtail F1 GTR that was built. The shaft that you see running back from the bottom of the shift lever actually controls the transmission.

Clickable for hi-res...

Dude - those are tvrfreak's photos (and effectively his bandwidth as well) - it's cool to post one or two from time to time as a reference, but copying every single one of them in here is pointless. Just provide a link back to the gallery if you think there's anyone left here who hasn't seen them.

I've got 4 pics of the silver and grey West car and don't know if they've been seen before or not. I don't know how to post photos and they are not that large, but if some wants to see them just let me know how to post them
