Exclamation 85' lude should i drop a new v-tech in it i got 6k

i was wondering if you could help me with something, im in the military in japan at the moment and ill be back in mississippi in dec, ill have 6k saved up to dump into my 85' honda prelude, it has 170k on a rebuilt engine, manual 1.8L it runs great but id like to beef it up, what do u think i should do? i have a muffler and air filter on it. i wanna get headers/high flow cat/wheels/spoiler/airbags/bodykit but 1st i wanna work on the engine
i was gunna bore it out port polish but i think that would be a waste i think. should i just get a new V-tech and drop it in???
if i get the V-tech will i have enough money to do anything else to it?? thank you for your help
