1992 Buick Roadmaster rear suspension airbag/shock.
How do you convert the airbag shocks to conventional shocks? Our vehicle is a 1992 Buick Roadmaster and we were told by the GM dealer that is the only way to fix our leakage. The airbag shocks are no longer available and we need to know what do you do with the air compressor that is hooked to the shocks? What type of shocks are needed?

Find a new dealer. Replacement shocks are available at any parts store. I bought the shocks for my '93 Roadmaster Wagon at O'Reilly Auto Parts for under $60 for the pair. Bolted them up, hooked up the hose and was done. I did have to use the ends from my factory shocks on the new ones even though I bought a "kit" that they sell. And make sure you put the shocks on the correct side. They are marked "Right" and "Left". I didn't know that.
The Load Level is very nice to have and there is no reason to go the cheap way out. |
