94 TCS code 19
My 94 Q45 stalls when accelerating past 60 MPH or driving up hills. It almost feels like the fuel is cut off. I took it to the dealer and after 4 hrs @ $90 they could not find what is wrong. I di not authorize anymore time to waste. The computer did not show any codes but after a few days after I got it from the dealer the TCS and Slip indicator lights came on and the unit in the trunk flashes 19 times. I ran all the tests in the manual and I am stuck in the procedure where it says there should be no conductivity betwen the relay wire connector (red and yellow) and ground. Mine shows conductivity and I checked the harness and possible grounds but found no visible signs of anything that might be casusing conductivity. What can be causing this conductivity? Can this TCS problem be causing the car to stall at moderate speeds? I have not been able to find an honest mechanic that sound even remotedly familiar with the science of the TCS system.

Since you didn't identify your location, can't help you find expertise.
How old is your battery and does it meet minimum OEM specs? Has you alternator been tested?

Re: 94 TCS code 19
Thank you Brian,
I am in the San Diego area of California. I have not tested the battery like you suggest and the car is currently at a "Japanese Car Specialist". However, I am already dissapointed because he fixed precisely what the dealer told me was Ok (coils and a ignition part that costs $500+) Car was the same when he gave it back to me. I took it back now he claims is the Knox Sensor........ I will be "Court" mad if it is just the battery and somehow I think it could be something as simple as that. |

Re: 94 TCS code 19
In SoCal, there is only one guy to use, and he' in San Diego.
www.jerrytucker.net Just don't go anywhere else. I sincerely doubt coils were bad. Get your parts from www.everythinginfiniti.com

Re: 94 TCS code 19
Thanks Brian,
By now I know the coils were not bad. I am hoping to just get my car running and learn from the experience at this point. I will try the place you recommend if (when) this guy is not able to solve the problem. |

If he is lost (i.e. - it is not repaired by now), button it up and take it to Jerry. Don't risk you car any further. Really.
