Question 98 lumina wiper switch = @!%&!*

base model. 3.1 litre. car has 187,900 miles on it.
have replaced the wiper switch 2 times in about the last 12 months.

on the multi function lever=

the wash part of it still works.the cruise control still works., but the low and high speed wiper does not.
is it possible to have my honest, shade tree mechanic wire a generic switch on the dash just for the low and high speed wiper separate from the multi lever switch?

Does intermittant/pulse work?

Have you tried tapping the motor housing/cover, or wiggling the harness to the motor?

Re: 98 lumina wiper switch = @!%&!*

the multi function lever doesn,t have the correct feel as you twist it for intermittent wiper. and it doesn,t work.
autozone wants about $80. for a duralast with 1 year warranty.i,ll probly get it there.

online was less than half that price ,but apparantly online is junk.

and i,ve been very gentle handling this current switch.

really, i,m ready to give up and just have my mechanic install a separate switch for low and high speed wiper function if possible.

You might be better off with a factory switch out of a pull yer own salvage yard....they are pretty robust switches it seems, mine is a year older than yours and same mileage and it still works fine...

I found an "a-c delco"
for $130. at Bumper To Bumper Car Parts and bought it.
That should do it.
