Thumbs up A Polish Better Than Tamiya Polish!

I have found a better polish than Tamiya's! Its 3m's Perfect-it Foam Polishing Pad Glaze. Check out 3m detailing products on the net, prolly a google search, (now can be used directly from AF!) I'm sure you can get it at Automotive Parts stores, but i highly dought it will be at any department store. Its around 22 USD per bottle for me (32 oz.) but i work at a body shop and get a big discount, so idk how much it retails at stores. The part # is 05996. It polishes 10x better than Tamiya, it goes 20x farther, and you get a Much Much larger qaunity per container. Its alot better than Tamiya, and its all i used to use. I know that HLJ is going to stop carring Tamiya, so here is a Much better alternative! Take a look at it, and even if it is a little pricey in stores if someone can find out, PM me and i'll give ya a deal on a bottle from work. This is very nice. Felt like letting you all know.

I don't get it? What would be wrong with using basic McQuires or something? What has to be so special about it?

It's Meguires, and it doesnt work as good as this stuff at all!, It cuts it faster, and is gentaler than Meguires, it will bring out more shine, look it up on the net for christ sake, Mequres is a cheapy car care company, this stuff is high quuality. It just works better. You'll have to try it out, its alot better than Meguires though.

This isnt a wax, or anything, a wax will work for shit at polishshing, this is a polish, or Glaze, its used to follow up after a more harsher polish we use from 3M, but this stuff works good for models. I always wetsand the model with 2000 grit sand paper before i polish to get out anyorgane peel.

Have you tested it on various paints? Some automotive polishes are only compatible with lacquer/acrylic finishes

I usually use enamel bases, with an acrylic clearcoat, so if this stuff does the job then I gotta grab some. I have some 3M Finish restorer, but it's too oily. All my Meguiar's products only touch my real vehicle anyway.

Thumbs down

you say u work at a body shop and u call Meguiars Crap?

First of all Meguiars makes regular automotive stuff for the average consumer, and then they make Professional Grade Products that are equal to 3m.

Look it up on the Net. Or maybe you've mistaken Meguires for Meguiars?

Yep, Meguiar's is some quality stuff. It's the only product that touches my vehicle, aside from westley's bleche-white for my tires.

Agree with this... On real car, the pro grade do wonders !

And I have to say that 3M do great and poor things too.

I didnt mean the pro-grade stuff, we use the car wash at work, i meant the normal stuff you can buiy at Wal-Mart.

The only product i use on my cars, and my famiy's cars is Griot's Garage, nothing else, they make very good products also.
