oil cooled vs oil and water cooled turbo

my t3 turbo has water ports but do i actually have to use this and water cool it or can i jsut oil cool it like so many other turbos out there.

Most turbo's offer both options. Typically only the oil cooling is used.

so ill be ok if i just run an oil line for my turbo and not the water cooling portion.

Yes it will run but the water cooling offers oem type longevity that some people like.. piece of mind.

ehh i suppsoe thats a plus. but i think the life of this turbo will only be lived as long as my motor remains unbuilt. after that bigger the a t3 42 trim will be needed. like a 57 trim or so. or like a gt28r or gt35r turbo something like that.
