Exhaust Question
Ok my 3kgt SL has 2 1/2 piping cat back no cat, no nothing, except for a flowmaster mufler. The car as of now is WAY WAY TOO LOUD. I took it back to the place that did it. THey ordered a 24 inch glasspack resonator and told me not to worry about a thing. They are fixign it for free, what sound should i expect? Alot quieter? Also, with the set up i have now i get very nasty squeal soudn at higher rpms, is this because i have no resonator? It sounds very nasty at past 4 grand. Flowmaster 40 Series on there....... What shoudl i expect with that "glasspack resonator" isntalled?

Re: Exhaust Question
It will get quieter...how much is impossible to say. Just wait until you get it, drive it around for a few days, and see if you are satisfied with it.

Re: Exhaust Question
by the way the squealing was there at high rpms with even my stock exhaust just got louder cuz it all got louder, andi noticed when im in drive at open throttle there is no squeal so it HAS to be the belt, next question, could this be another belt besides the timing?

Re: Re: Exhaust Question
The nasty noise past 4k rpm is the exhaust. I just put a tt catback on my car and it gets "buzzy" at 3500rpm. I plan on doing some work to the exhuast to fix that and to make it a little louder. I have the active exhaust valve opened right now and its too damn quiet. lol

It's probably the assesory belt (the one driving the alternater, air con, etc...) or the belt tensioner pully. Open the hood and see if you can here any squeaks from the left side of the car. |
