Because there's no information in it at all.

Air filter or oil filter? K&N makes both.

Do you have a kit part or do you need a part?

1/12, 1/20/, 1/24/, 1/43?

Plastic, resin, aluminum?

(Guessing it's an air filter you want)-
Cone, oval, flat, box?

What does it look like, and what do you want it to look like (pics!)?

Any of these details can effect the answer you get.

There's an incredible amount of information and experince availibe on this forum, but in order to make use of it, you have to ask the right questions.

If you come across as unwilling to put that kind of effort into your query, than why should anyone else put effort into giving you a good answer?

Incedently, you may get decent results with drybrushing, but it can be difficult to make it look consistant. I would mix up a flat base color (red, black, white, and a touch of blue) and apply it to the filter element. After it dries, give it a wash of dark grey or black to put shadows in the pleat valleys.

Re: How do I simulate a K&N filter?

Maybe we dont know how to help because we dont understand what the hard part would be? We've all given you answers to your question, and all are valid answers. So I dont know what you're looking for.

So what exactly are you asking?

How do you simulate a K&N Filter with paint? That's been answered, dry brushing.

How do you scratch build a K&N Filter? Thats been answered.

How do you make the kit part more realistic to a K&N filter? Thats been answered.

We simply dont understand what the challenging part is, or how we have not answered your question. People have shared their knowledge with you. We can only help those that are willing to help themselves.

Why no one call me to join the mess? My speciality
Take it easy guys, we're all tuner lover here Andy the first

BTW I guess I won't use one but I'm interested in the tip: nobody tried with a paper "origami" (for the real paper piece) or with a folded PE part?
