Last update for awhile as the building of it is almost finished.
Today finished off most of the engine bay and fitted all the underneath panels.

Now its time to carry on with the painting of the body which has just got underway.

This shows the awesome detail of just the fans !!

Engine again...almost done

Final pic

The painting of the body took place today as it was a nice sunny day.

The kit has very few molding lines, just one either side of the front bonnet section, and on the rear of the bumper on each side. So once they were removed with 800 then 1000 grit paper, the whole body was given a rub with 1200 and then finished off with 2000 grit paper.

The body was then primed with 3 coats off Tamiya White 3 days ago and then left to dry in the sun for all three days.

Today it was given 4 coats of TS-8 Red, 10 minutes apart then left to dry in the microwave to keep the dust off it. After 3 hours it was removed then left in the sun to help the paint harden.

I painted each part separately, but with the same can to make sure it all came out the same shade. When painting models like these with so many different body parts you run the risk of getting different shades of color. If you paint all the parts at the same time of the day, with the same can, and allow them to dry at the same rate as all the other's, you should not have a problem.

Here's most of the parts about 4 hours after painting.
Next few days will be spent polishing etc

Amazing isn't it? PMan always gets an amazing shine straight from the can and yet he still polishes. I suppose that's why his kits always look so good
