Re: HD Nissan GT-R GT1

thanks for theses detailed explanations.
this model seems really good though, even if the quality of your work really helps increasing final result quality for sure.
I have such vents things to build too in TKs , for Gallardo for example, in which it's possible to get it opened, but as you metioned having a perfect alignment or angle will be the big deal...!
thanks again for explanations and congratulations once more for your work on those GT cars.

Re: HD Nissan GT-R GT1

U can only do it better than me Phil.
It is probably just my skill arriving there and not planning something more to use theme properly without a base.

Officine sumo power, may I help u?

black base for the interiors:

and finally that flat/satin effect over the black part of the body. Think this also is the way to make modern DTM cars, with a lot of gloss/ flat effects allover..

to make it without messy other effects, I made card dimes using the same shape of the black/redline decal part, exactly as when I make military camo over my planes, simply palcing it near the body with hand not holding the airbrush.it is quite easy to do.

so now I go on working on the too nice PE parts. Those are the grill covers (as from reference picture sheet enclosed in the box) for the 2 side exhausts.

Re: HD Nissan GT-R GT1

Looks topnotch. If this kit wouldn't be so expensive i would definetly get one. As this livery looks so sexy on the r35. Glad to hear the decals are good. Wasn't sure weather to buy any from them due to their resin making abilities. Keep us posted.

Re: HD Nissan GT-R GT1

here I am again for the final part of the build.
I arranged the cockpit. the cage is tricky. in those models I really prefer rebuild all with evergreen styrene.usually the cages are provided in resin or (worst imho) white metal parts. they look always ugly.
Strange the seat belts are not included in this nice kit.the nissan uses green belts.

also for cockpit they provide excellent PE parts.

the ventilated brakes are really full detailed. probably they are intended for who wants to finish the model with one wheel down and all suspension area (to be scratchbuild) visible. I used tamiya DTM brakes with Brembo decals.

then I took my spare alu sheets to make the holed plates inside the A pillar. this should be a nice PE detail that is missing and quite visible from clear windshield.
