ROFL

well, um... yeah.

i was thinking of driving a saturn to 125 MPH, slowing down to 110 for some high speed slaloming, and then accelerating back up to 135 for the grand finale...

...crashing into a 150 year old oak tree...

we all know american cars can't do corners, not ever slalom turns, mroe so at 110.

Re: remove top speed limiter - saturn

hey... thats not true.
american cars are perfectly capable of turning better than an aircraft carrier.
it'd be a close call if we had to compete with a 747 though...
them things are pretty manoeuvrable.

we can turn left really well if we have a multi million dollar suspension setup and a professional driver
lol

It actually more for warranty purposes. liek Curtis said it's a REV limiter. It keeps you from revving it so high you'll blow the engine.

I don't know of many cars that do 1/2 the redline at 47mph in top gear. Only one I can think of is probably a geo metro

Re: remove top speed limiter - saturn

I know why speed limiters showed up. They want all the dorky high school kids racing each other on the highways, all of them limited to the same speed regardless of engine or aero dynamics. "Level playing field", eh? Gets em ready for NASCAR qualifying.
