My girlfriend paid 7500 Euros (about $9000 USD) for the car, including a one year warranty (not that Toyotas really need a warranty). We're both very happy with the car. Japanese cars don't have it easy here in Germany, image wise, due to the strong media lobby that supports the domestic cars (BMW, Mercedes, VW, Opel, Audi etc.). However, several years of top marks in the reliability statistics, along with a recent change in their design philosophy has increased Toyota's new car sales here in Germany significantly recently. Mazda has had a similar boom in this tough market. Happy motoring! |

Interesting view of Japanese cars in Europe. I did a lot of research and in many ways Japanese cars are more reliable than European. If you want a car that gets you from point a to point b, a Japanese car is superior. A lot of research such as Consumer Reports says this. Admittedly European cars have a more luxurious feel to them. But Japanese engineering is second to none.

Re: Corolla owners: where do you live?
European car manufacturers tend to be the ones who bring the most innovations with them. However, in terms of reliability, Toyota and co. indeed have the upper hand.
