Re: 1995 Jimmy Timing Questions

So far no luck with getting the info I needed. Updated the scanner, even tried selecting different vehicles like they suggested. I think it might not do my vehicle. I know it will do others but that does not help me. When connected it see's like 143 PID's but will only display about 12 of them. Scanner is pretty nice for a low cost. I am at the point where I dont think it is possible with my car. Will play with it more when I get a little free time.

Re: 1995 Jimmy Timing Questions

A friend had his modis snap on scanner at work tonight so I hooked that up to the truck. Did not see cam retard though. Advance was reading 18 to 22 on his. Mine was reading about the same but negative numbers. The only other thing in his that showed up a value of degrees was something called "mod spark" I have no idea what this means. The reading for that was 0 degrees. Anyone familiar with snap on scanners that might be able to tell me what that value means? Thanks again.

The Snap on Modis, Solus, and MT2500 can all check cam retard. On the Solus it's in with misfire data and also in the "sensor data" section, (and somewhere else but can't remember where right now). I'd be surprised if the Modis and MT2500 are different in that respect. Maybe MT can shed some light.

Old master you have it cover good.
I use the Solas pro.

The engine specific section has to be used with the Vin information plugged into scanner.
I usually find it in the engine miss fire section.
And engine has to be speed-ed up over 1K for it to reset after turning dist.

OBD11 section will not get the job done .
