FERRARI F1-2000 1/4 scale model, (need help with wings setup)

Hi Guys

since you all guys are racing fans, I decided to ask for some help.
Right now I´m scratch building one F1-2000 ferrari in 1:4 scale

pictures here:
http://www.exclusivescale.com/project_f1-2000-1.htm

I want to build the Monza, and Japan car, but I´ve noticed that the wings setup is very different for these tracks, I´m asking for your help because I need some pictures, technical drawings, diagrams or whatever you can post or email me, to complete my model, I have the f12000 from hotwheels and tamiya, but it doesn´t have the marlboro logos, don´t even know from which circuit is it, and I want to make one historical model, I think monza or japan would be the best ones of the 2000 season. What do you think?
Please help me to complete my models, I´ll keep yo updated with the advances if you like to.
Thanks

Re: FERRARI F1-2000 1/4 scale model, (need help with wings setup)

You need to buy Giorgio Piola's 2000 F1 Technical Analysis. Lots of pics of all the developments on all the F1 cars of the year but concentrating very heavily on Ferrari. F1 Modelling Magazine have done a couple of full walkaround features on the F1-2000, with lots and lots of detail shots. HLJ or Rainbow 10 may still have copies. There should be plenty of websites with pics of specific races. www.shell-ferrari.com used to be a good one, but since I'm not a Ferrari fan I haven't been looking for that kind of thing.

Above all good luck with your project, it looks awesome so far. I think Hockenheim would be a good race to do

The best reference I can think of are Tameo's 1:43 versions. I've built both in the past and the rear wings were spot on. It's probably a bit over the top but if you can't find the photos you need these kits are worth checking out.

I have just 8 photos from the Japanese GP 2000, but some of them are quite big and hopefully helpful. I have uploaded all of them here

Please keep us updated on this amazing project!

Hi,

did you try this site: http://www.f1-photo.com/ ? then go to search.

or go to http://motorsport.com/photos/ then click on the year you want and look up the Italian/Japanese GP. perhaps you'll find something there.

How about the new book Ferrari Formula 1 by Peter Wright. This book is a full technical walk around of the F1-2000 and I would think it's absolutely neccesary for a project like this. Check it out at....

Re: FERRARI F1-2000 1/4 scale model, (need help with wings setup)

Hi, thanks to everybody. I ordered the Giorgio Piola's 2000 F1 Technical Analysis a MONTH AGO from amazon and haven´t received it yet, so I´m desperate to continue with my model. all your pictures are helping a lot. the model is almost done. I´m making some changes, (suspension arms will be in aluminum instead of styrene, and some pieces will be casted in white metal to make it more real.
but still have to figure out the wings. if you get more pictures email or post them, anything help =)

and thanks for your support, i´ll keep posted the advances.
thanks

Just had a browse through my copy of Piola's 2000 Tech Analysis and the biggest change for Suzuka was a straight front wing, doing away with the arrowhead. Monza of course had very small, low drag and downforce wings.

Re: FERRARI F1-2000 1/4 scale model, (need help with wings setup)

Well guys,
after 5 years of inactivity in my model, I finally decided to finish the proyect, I got the books you suggested, I made a few changes to the model, and a friend of mine helped me a lot to finish it, in fact this model is a model I gave to him, due to his great help in making it possible, Mine has some changes, will have the #3 as the original F1-2000, will be fully sponsored by marlboro, and some of the pieces will be in real carbon fiber, I´m about 1 month from finishing mine, but I´m uploading the pictures of the first model from this proyect, hope you like it.

This first model is possible thanks to all the people that helped me out in the process, I will upload the pictures of the new model in a few weeks, and I really hope the next update won´t take so many years like this one.

Best regards

Ever Lopez "JELP"

You should try having a 1:1 248F1 and 1:1 F2004 Nose cone in your room. Takes up like a thrid of my room already.
