So where were you guys?

Well I entered my NSX and S2000. Couldn't track down the WRX mirror. I'll look more tonight. :o

A couple pics; I'll take more tomorrow...

Cool R/C Tank demo. They have a giant 'sandbox' and had a mock battle. The tanks play laser tag w/ each other and they shake and make noise when hit. The barrels flash and reciol when they fire. Very cool.

Dale King (last year's Mater Modeler) had this cool display of Tamiya Boxsters.

(l to r: lower row: Boxster GT2, Boxster GT-1, Boxster Spyder. Upper row: box-stock Boxster, Boxster GT3, Boxster (replica of Dale's car), box-stock Special Edition Boxster.)

Closeup of Boxster Spyder:

A funny entry in the diorama category:

There was a not-yet-released RX-8 conspiuously placed in the parking lot.

Contest entries was very thin, even by the end of the day.

Sale tent has $35 Enzos and plenty of Perf.Blue Focii. I bought the Campus Friends set for $10.

The freebie pile by the registration desk has Enzo box art calendar posters and all-Ferrari-models-made-by-Tamiya posters (Mythos not included... ), as well as paint charts and last years issues of Tamiya Model Magazine Int'l.

More pics tomorrow.

See you there?

some of the model car entries were quite poorly done. i was surprised to even see some of those entered. and i'm not even talking about the ones done by kids...that part is understandable...

on the other hand, there were a few nice ones too.

That is sad! Subsequent Tamiyacons may even be cancelled if not enough people participate

True, but keep in mind that any former winner cannot enter the contest.

That diorama with the yellow prosche is funny!

I'd shoot that cat if it was real life.

If I knew it was that cheap, I would'ev baught one, aw well. My friend was baked from the sun, while I was safe under the sun with my hat, it was pretty hot.

Next year, Roman and I will both enter cars. I would enter the junior class but I'm gonna turn 18 by the next Tamiya show so I can't enter that class aw well, I guess I gotta run with the big guys in the normal class

I got a handful of pics, but my camera ate it's batteries, and by the time I got back after lunch w/ more, the rooms were closed for judging. If any of you guys (Walter, Jose, Howie, etc...) want to add you pics to the gellery server, PM me...

More to come...
