Here's one you may not have seen before anywhere..I certainly haven't..

A recently finished project - Tamiya's YZR kit, Zero white, Legends decals and 2k clearcoat. Nice otb bike...here's what it looked like back in the day...

...and my model...

Great reference pics, but where is your model?

No it is a realy nice model! I have this kit also but the yellow/black paintscheme.
How was the quality of this kit? Any problems?

Kris.

Its a beauty, i really dig the yellow/black theme also. I think it would look even better with some pe rotor detail, other than that its simply stunning. Great model and finish.

Lovely job on the model. I'm afraid to admit that I saw him race around '79 at Brands Hatch - showing my age now!

Is the photo from Brands? Looks like the start of the Transatlantic Trophy?!

Anyone know who's on the number 8 bike?

There are a number of issues with the kit - mainly centering around the engine and exhausts. There's not much room in there and I was forced to do some trimmiing of the pipes to be able to get the fairing on cleanly. Be aware that if you fill in all of the gaps in the pipes from the moulding process, they don't fit either! The outer cylinder heads foul the fairing too - I guess the fairing just isnt wide enough.
