What Fram Oil Filter for a '06 Sonata V6?

I have an '06 GLS V-6. Book says use Fram Oil filter CH9999. Is this a real oil filter? Can't seem to find one. Has anyone acually seen this filter? BTW book doesn't have indication of replacement filter for the fresh air intake at the back of the glove box. Is there an option to purchasing one from the dealer?
thanks.

This place http://cgenterprises.com/ has many cabin filters. While the list isn't up to date, a it might be worth a phone call.

I've looked everywhere and it seems like the dealer is the only place. I have seen packs of 8 or 10 selling on eBay! but I only need a couple. If you find a source, let me know. Or we can split an order

Re: What Fram Oil Filter for a '06 Sonata V6?

Fram CH9999 has not yet been released. Purolator offers a L35310. That is the only aftermarket filter I have found. I work for Advance Auto Parts and we can get this though our warehouse or our website ( on the site you must type in part number it does not show up if you look under the vehicle )

Hope this Helps.

i just tried to check out the puro. L35310 on the web and it is described as a spin on. the req. filter is a drop in cartridge type ; so the fram is correct an that puro. number is wrong.

buy the Hyundai oil filter at the dealer, often cheaper than aftermarket filters AND you're sure you won't have problems (Fram oil filter cause a big drop in the oil pressure, which is not good at all in the long term)

There have been a number of issues with Fram filters. Here is a link to a study done on various oil filters currently on the market.http://minimopar.knizefamily.net/oil...html#fram-ph8a Maybe another brand might be a better choice.

Re: What Fram Oil Filter for a '06 Sonata V6?

I went in to my local Advance parts store and bought a Purolator for my '07 V6 off of the shelf. Cost was $8.88 and it is a drop in cartridge with a top of the cannister rubber "O" ring and a small "O" ring for the bottom of the post.

Re: What Fram Oil Filter for a '06 Sonata V6?

I bought a Fram CH9999 from Walmart for $7.86. It is made in Korea, just like the Hyundai brand and looks very similar with O-rings etc. The oil filter number didnt seem like a real number (9999) but thats what it is....
