Thermostat housing
When replacing the thermostat on my 2000 Intrigue. Is it suggested to replace the housing at the same time or are they sold that way. I know about the enhanced thermostat part number. Is it best to get this at a GM dealer so you know you got the enhanced thermostat?

Re: Thermostat housing
Its all one piece. Dealer part will run you around $60 or retail parts store should run about $30. I went with local retail (NAPA). Either will work.

Re: Thermostat housing
my enhanced thermostat was $162.00 from a local GM dealer most part houses here are $128.00. The enhanced thermostat housing differs from the regular thermostat housing, the enhanced housing fits almost flush with the engine block. OEM housing is almost a square box. The enhanced thermostat solved my overheating problems, with a round trip from cleveland to alantic city just completed,I had no over heating issues....Good Luck!

Re: Thermostat housing
Wonder if someone like NAPA would have the enhanced thermostat or that is a dealer only item?

Re: Thermostat housing
Also try www.gmpartsdirect.com. They are normally cheaper then the dealer.
