Exactly how much time and effort does it take to get a corvette/GT/SS and take out some imports at the stoplight drags?

As for happy mediums...Yeah, a 5th gen hatch with full-on show and a lightly modded B20 swap is my happy medium of choice. Anywayz, lighten up newbie. Don't take this shit so personal. As you said, this is just a web board.

It's not smoking someone that's fun. It's knowing that after putting all the time and effort on your car, and that it finally pays off, this is what makes it tempting..

But also, its seeing the stupid looks on people with show cars after smoking 'em...

Guys, this is speed vs. looks not import vs. domestic. Bang for buck...the V8s take us. But imports are very fun cars and it's just our taste. Now..if you're like JayFidizzy and can have a freakin' nice looking Civic with a NICE ASS BEAUTIFUL CORVETTE ON THE SIDE then you're all set. If you're like me..a (currently, though i applied today) jobless 15 year old hooked on H lovin' then you'll pick up a $2000 slow-as-balls hatch.

I like speed foremost. But if you can look good while you're speeding (haha) then hell yeah! But some people have different tastes in what looks good and what doesn't. If you know me then you know I'm the little JDM freak that loves the fast cars that look stock. But if you are around me at car shows and events I appreciate any car that looks good or goes fast. There's a 98ish EX w/ a buddy club kit, TV, 18" Racing Hart C5s...i'm sure someone would actually call it rice. But then they'd open the hood and a B18C1 will look at you

What's more sleeper these days...a car that looks "JDM" that ends up being fast or a all-show looking car? Hard to tell isn't it?

Do what you like and screw the people who flame you for it. Some things are inexcusable though...hehe

How about you stop being a little beeoch and stop listening to your friends who tell you to get 18" rims and a tiiiight body kit with neon lights. You're going to get dogged on if you put that shit on your car. But if all you're out to do it please your friends then let them spend your money for you.

Take that $3200 and put it into the engine bay. Not enough for a swap, but enough for a decent turbo. Impress people with speed not bling bling 19" chrome rims and darking duck spoilers

well since sleepers are a rarity since everyone is taking the turbo shortcut:

a sleeper is a stock looking car, all-motor, turbo killer.

If you let your friend's modify your car, you might as well not even do a damn thing to it till you can think for yourself.

sleeper is the way to go in my opinion... drop an H22 engine... intake/headers/exhaust if it fits... LOL... besides, bodykits gives you attention u want and u dont want... sure u catch the eye of the girl on the corner when your at a red... but then u also catch the eye of the crook on the other side of the street...

i dunno doode... im goin sumwhere in between... i cant afford the utopia of a fast and sweet car... so... im doin the basic I/H/E... then lowering... side skirts, rear valence, front lip... i know i cant burn most of the cars on the road... but i'll b happy with the added performance and looks...

so basically... its up to u... but i feel that u shuddnt be strictly go or show...
