Repsol Honda NSR500 '99 WIP

Hi
This is my very first attempt at making a bike model. Seen this model at the shop and thought it would look cool.


So far i have put the seat and front guard together and puttied over the joins.
Primered all the body parts, heres a couple of pics.



Assembled and painted the engine, lots of detail in these bike kits.





Heres just a pic of the frame put together.


Finally attached the frame to the engine.



Thats all ive done so far. Comments and critisisim welcome, thanks for looking.

I think you've started a build that looks as crisp and clean as your cars allways do. I look forward to seeing some more progress.

Just a little update, been going slowly lately. So far ive finished the rear swingarm and connected it to the frame,




Painted the stand titanium yellow cause i thought flat black was a bit boring.


Also painted the fairing pieces. This was my first time masking for a different colour and it came out quite good i think.

Just a little update as im a slow builder.lol.
This is just the front brake disks and wheel,


This is it assembled.


All painting done with tamiya paints. Some colours i dont have so just paint it what looks good.

Looks great... nice glossy paint and very clean all around. One comment though - and not related to the bike itself - try to use the macro mode on your camera if it has one. This is usually indicated by a little flower icon. By using macro mode, you can get closer to the object and not have so much white space around what you're trying to photograph. Alternatively, crop your images to only show the object.

Great work so far Nathan. Brake disks are nicely detailed and the paint is looking good on the fairings. Nice work on the masking.

I use the macro mode but if i get to close it goes blurry.
